Mark & Carol  Reynolds
Mark migrated south to Austin, Texas after high school to attend the University of Texas majoring in English Literature. He and his brother supplemented their income by making handmade kaleidoscopes and selling them on “the drag”. After completing his education, Mark and his brother went into scope making full time. In 1988 Mark took over sole ownership of the business, and along with his wife Carol, continued making high quality kaleidoscopes. Today it is still just the two of them.

Mark has over 25 years of experience in the art of making kaleidoscopes; his wife Carol has over 15 years of experience. Most of their single scopes are handcrafted with wood veneer, exotic hardwood, front surface mirror systems, and oil filled object chambers. They also make kaleidoscope sets with six interchangeable object chambers, displayed in a custom-made exotic hardwood box. They recently completed a large version called ‘the Hubble’ measuring 2 feet long by 2 feet tall by 15 inches wide using hardwood & wood veneer. You can find them at high quality art shows around the country.
